These  eBook texts are all about Catholic wisdom and virtue. Some of the eBooks offered here may be older, while others are not old. Remember that virtue is timeless; it never changes. It is important to have respect for different philosophies because a universal truth will manifest itself in each society; it will however manifest itself in different ways. These eBooks are best viewed with an Adobe Acrobat Reader, or an equivalent .pdf reader.  In most cases you will receive an exact copy of an actual book only, in digital eBook form.  Click on the eBook title that you wish to download, or right click  "save target as", or "save link as", whichever way you prefer.  If you have an Adobe Acrobat Reader the books can be downloaded directly into the Adobe Reader, and saved to your computer from there.  Clicking directly on the title will most likely automatically open, and download directly into Adobe Acrobat if you already have one.  You must save it to your computer once it is finished downloading into an Adobe Acrobat Reader, also you will need to add the title back into the icon after you download each eBook or when you save it.  Experience will tell you which procedure works best for you.  All of the  eBook texts here have been written in the  English language, and they take only moments to download; please allow more time to download for slower internet connections.  Once saved on your computer you may wish to burn it to a CD disk and save it in your own personal library. A sage once said:

"The value of words

lie in their reliability."

In Catholic catechism, the seven virtues refer to one of two lists of virtues, most commonly referring to the 4 cardinal virtues of prudence, justice, restraint or temperance, and courage or fortitude, and the 3 theological virtues of faith, hope, and love or charity; these were adopted by the Church Fathers.

An alternative list, the seven heavenly virtues consists of chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness, and humility.

Other virtues include:

mercy, generosity, liberality, nobility, valor, strength, integrity, truth,  prudence, will, determination and resolve.

Seven capital vices:  vainglory, envy, anger, sloth, lust, covetousness, and gluttony (greed).

                  Prayer of
          St. Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred,
let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

Amen.
